Story Writer, Climate Reset, Seattle, WA
March 2019-April 2019
Climate Reset is an informational website regarding climate change, and is designed to appeal to American conservatives.
I worked with the website's founder, Andrew Wallace, to write stories illustrating how climate change affects humans' everyday lives. These stories required me to synthesize scientific research and the shared experiences of those directly experiencing the effects of climate change into fictive vignettes that were scientifically accurate while at the same time believable and accessible to those at an 8th-grade reading level.
Blogger, ScantoFix, Seattle, WA
July 2018-November 2018
ScantoFix is a company which provides security management services to WordPress website owners. Their blog is designed to help readers independently manage the security of their WordPress websites.
As a blogger at ScantoFix, I worked closely with founder Tim Neighbors to translate technical security concepts into blog posts accessible to readers of all skill and knowledge levels. These posts required me both to master new concepts quickly as well as organize, edit, and accessibly describe highly technical information for inexperienced readers.

Sales Associate, Paint the Town, Seattle, WA
September 2018-Present
Paint the Town is a pottery painting studio. The store provides unpainted pottery for customers to customize, then glazes, fires, and returns the pottery for customers to take home.
As a sales associate, I work both with customers in the store and independently in the kiln room, glazing and firing customers’ pieces. This position not only exercises my communication and interpersonal skills, but challenges me to problem solve and multitask on a daily basis.
Dog Walker, Rover.com, Seattle and Tacoma, WA
June 2017-September 2018
Rover is a website designed to connect dog walkers with dog owners in need of pet care. While the website supplies scheduling tools and information about a dog walker’s services and work, dog walkers work independently with clients as requested.
Working with Rover provided me an opportunity to manage my own business. This helped me hone my skills in time management, interpersonal relations with clients, and utilize my organizational skills.
Summer Camp Counselor, Kids Time, Seattle, WA
June 2015-August 2015
As a camp counselor, I worked with large groups of children between 5 and 10 years old, monitoring and facilitating group activities. I was responsible for children’s welfare and safety as well as coordinating and creating different activities appropriate for each age group. This ranged from on-site arts and crafts to leading groups of students to, from, and around public places.
This position required creative thinking, quick problem solving, leadership skills, the ability to mediate and resolve conflicts, and effective communication skills.
Elementary School TA, Team Read, Seattle, WA
June 2014-July 2014
As a Teachers Assistant at a local summer school, I worked with kindergarten, first, and second grade children to develop their math skills.
While I was responsible for various supervision and office tasks, I also helped students to increase their math skills. Each student came to the summer school at various academic levels, and I was required to work efficiently and creatively in order to ensure each child got the work and attention appropriate for their learning styles and academic level. I also worked with small groups of children at similar levels.

Youth Philanthropy Project, PONCHO, Seattle, WA
September 2012 - June 2013
PONCHO (Patrons of Northwest Civic, Cultural and Charitable Organizations) is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing community access to, and support for, the arts.
With recent budget cuts in the Seattle School district, arts education in the community has significantly declined. In response, PONCHO created the Youth Philanthropy Project; a year-long project designed to give youth (ages 15-19) who were passionate about the arts a way to help other youth gain access to arts education. I was one of 18 board members who were responsible for allocating a grant of $20,000 to one, or several, arts education programs.
As well as becoming more involved with the arts community of the greater Seattle area, I learned about the grant making process and how to analyze budgets, proposals, and applications in addition to conducting site visits. This environment allowed to me work collaboratively and creatively with peers and my community.
